Position Summary
The IT Support Specialist provides day-to-day technical support to end users and assists in maintaining the organization’s IT systems, hardware, and network resources. This role is responsible for resolving technical issues, supporting IT service operations, maintaining IT equipment, and assisting senior IT staff with infrastructure, security, and systems administration tasks. The IT Support Specialist ensures reliable technology operations across the company while delivering high-quality customer service.

Areas of Responsibility
  • End-User Support & Service Operations
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for user technical support needs.
    • Provide Tier 1–2 support for hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and common business applications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving connectivity, system performance, email, and application functionality.
    • Ensure effective incident management, problem resolution, and service request handling through the IT ticketing system.
    • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including device preparation, account provisioning, and access changes.
  • Hardware Deployment & Lifecycle Management
    • Deploy, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
    • Assist with tracking, maintaining, and replacing IT equipment in accordance with lifecycle standards.
    • Support the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of printers, networking equipment, and related devices.
    • Follow and enforce hardware configuration standards established by IT leadership. 
  • ​​​​​​​Infrastructure & Systems Support (Under Direction of IT Director)
    • Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of servers, networks, cloud services, and core systems.
    • Support configuration and troubleshooting of basic network components such as switches, access points, and VPN solutions.
    • Assist with system and application updates, patching, and scheduled maintenance activities.
    • Follow established procedures to ensure uptime, system reliability, and compliance with IT policies.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance
    • Assist with basic security operations including MFA setup, endpoint protection, patching, and monitoring.
    • Help ensure compliance with company IT policies and industry security standards.
    • Escalate suspected security incidents and support response activities as directed.
    • Maintain awareness of cybersecurity best practices and follow secure handling procedures for company data.
  • Documentation, Inventory & Administrative Support
    • Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting steps, system information, configurations, and procedures.
    • Assist with software license tracking, asset inventory updates, and vendor support coordination.
    • Support the organization with various administrative tasks related to IT operations.
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement
    • Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
    • Assist with product research, vendor interactions, and evaluation of new technologies.
    • Identify recurring issues and recommend process, documentation, or technical improvements.
    • Demonstrate ongoing skill development to support more advanced responsibilities over time.
Education, Experience, License, and Skill Requirements

Required
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical support or IT operations role
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic networking concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities while meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
Preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), or Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or similar.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, remote support tools, or endpoint management platforms.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant credentials.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time, on-site position.
  • This role involves working in an office environment during the hours of 7:00am-4:00pm. Regular flexibility in working hours will be needed based on events and business needs.
  • Routine travel to multiple company locations to provide on-site technical support.​​​​​​​
